Assessment of vulnerability of water management in the Neman River basin (Belarussian part) under climate change impact

Abstract

Climate change has significant implications for water resources. Some of them are already visible now. The article presents the results of assessing the vulnerability of water resources and related natural resources, economic sectors to climate change in the Belarusian part of the Neman river basin. Vulnerability assessment was carried out in the context of administrative regions based on the forecast of the degree of change in river flow. The article provides an analysis of the possible negative consequences for water-related sectors of the economy. Such industries require the development of additional adaptation measures.
