The article presents the issue of the use of ecological factors in the operation of tourist accommodation facilities in Central Pomerania. The aim of the article is to analyze pro-ecological factors and activities in the provision of hotel accommodation services for tourists in the coastal region and to explain the necessary actions according to the opinions of tourists and
industry managers, which must be taken to achieve the goals of sustainable development of coastal tourism. Field studies were carried out in three coastal towns (Rowy, Dąbki and Poddąbie) of the Ustka commune in the summer tourist seasons (June?August 2016 and 2017). To develop the results, an analytical and synthetic analysis was used to determine the degree of
use of ecological factors in the operation of tourist accommodation facilities. Basic statistical materials on the development of tourism in local units of Central Pomerania were obtained from the statistical studies of the Statistical Office in Gdansk and Szczecin. The documentary method was used, surveys of tourists and managers of tourist accommodation facilities were
carried out.

Preliminary results of researches in the selected region showed that all age groups declare their willingness to participate in a pro-ecological campaign during their stay in coastal cities, their activity increases at higher levels of education. The introduction of modern technologies and facility management systems as well as the expansion of measures to protect the environment in the hotel and the region (32% of readings) along with measures to reduce water consumption, waste sorting, reduce heat and energy consumption (61% of readings) are announced by tourists priority areas of pro-ecological activity.

For most middle and older age groups, the factor of environmental concern when choosing accommodation facilities is in the third or fourth position (after the factors of the location of the seaside property and the quality of hotel services), taking second place in the youngest age group. Almost half of the respondents (46%) stated that they actively participated in pro-ecological campaigns in hotel facilities, more than 1/3 of the respondents (34%) have nothing against participating in such events if this does not affect their comfort during their stay. Pro-ecological activities and new innovative technologies contribute primarily to increased costs (as indicated by 52% of the managers of the inspected objects) of accommodation facilities in the first stages, to increase their competitiveness in the local market in the future.
