Organization of new municipal waste management system in the Słupsk City in the years 2013-2016

Abstrakt
The aim of the article was to assess local municipal waste management efficiency in relation to the national system changes in waste management. The chosen study area was the Słupsk City. Method applied in the article was the analysis of documents in the field of municipal waste management in the Słupsk City. After introduction of new municipal waste management in 2013, all inhabitants were included in the system. Local government organized selective waste collection system and differentiated amount of waste disposal charges. However, segregated waste had minor share in the total mass of collected municipal waste – from about 26% in 2014 to about 20% in 2016. The positive change was the increase in the level of paper, metal, glass and plastic recycling from 21% in 2013 to about 32% in 2016. The recovery of construction and demolition waste changed from 50% in 2013 to about 81% in 2016.
