Accumulation of water in small retention reservoirs as an element of comprehensive water use on the example of the Desna River, on the right tributary of the Dnieper

Abstract
The paper describes the regulation of the outflow of the Ukrainian part of the Desna River by means of artificial reservoirs. The results of research on the regulation of river runoff are presented. It was assumed that small reservoirs are characterized by a geomorphological peculiarity, parameters of hydrographic regions, stability of the horizontal regime, little impact on adjacent areas, a fast pace of formation of banks and basins, and a short time of formation of a new ecosystem. According to research, most joints are in terrible condition. This condition is due to a lack of proper care and improper use. Most are built by local farms with a low level of engineering, with simplified technical documentation, and more often without it. Comprehensive studies of water bodies of various types made it possible to clarify their peculiarities
of development and possible use. Taking into account the slight regulation of the outflow of
rivers in the Desna catchment area, it should be stated that the volume of artificial reservoirs
can be increased several times. When regulating the runoff, focus on the ecological component.
