THE COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE AS A FACTOR OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT OF THE KARTUZY COUNTY

The aim of this article was an analysis of the communication infrastructure of the Kartuzy county – the both: external and the internal accessibility presented as a factor of tourism development. Particularly were discussed: the access to highway, freeways and railroad line and air and port terminals. The significant issue of this work was showing the communication
network inside the county and accessibility to the tourist trails.

The Kartuzy county is located close to the Trójmiasto and has suitable connections with all the country. Investigations conducted by the method of breaking the k point shows (Racine, Reymond 1977; Jakubowicz 1977), that the range of the impact of the Trójmiasto is asymetric towards to the north and south, and to the east and west of the county. The presented county is situated near by the important, national and European, communication knots and corridors, fast elevated railroad, international airport, seaport and in connection to the Trans-European Transport Networks. Not very advantageous is the internal accessibility of the county.

The value of the communication infrastructure in the county are numerous tourist trails, e.g.: pedestrian, water, horse, cycling and pilgrimage. These facilitate the access to interesting touristic objects on discussed area and constitute the attraction in itself.
